Lesson Overview: Dream Door – Emotions and Imagination

In this lesson, students will explore their dreams and emotions. Inspired by personal experiences and imagination, students will design a dream door with a patterned path that uses perspective, symbols, and color to represent their feelings. Behind the door, they will illustrate a dream scene and add cloud elements to enhance the dreamy effect. This lesson encourages self-expression, emotional awareness, and creative storytelling through visual art.

Lesson Overview: Map or Art – Designing a Fantasy World

In this lesson, students will design a fantasy map inspired by ancient cartography. They will imagine a unique world and bring it to life with detailed symbols, magical creatures, and key landmarks. Using permanent markers on watercolor paper, students will create borders, cities, and travel routes, then age their map with a coffee stain effect. This project combines creativity, storytelling, and historical map-making techniques.

Lesson Overview: Your Superhero – Designing a Hero with Purpose

In this imaginative lesson, students will design their own superhero or villain by applying skills in human anatomy, proportions, and shading techniques. They will use value and shadow to enhance realism and express personality through pose, design, and symbolism. Drawing inspiration from artists like Frank Miller and Emre Ekmekci, students will create a character with a strong identity and a purpose that reflects the kind of impact they want to see in the world. This lesson promotes creativity, technical skill, and critical thinking through peer feedback and self-reflection.
